There are as many opinions and thoughts on computer security as there are cars in a mall parking lot! This can make one go crazy sometimes in just thinking about it. Sometimes, we take the attitude of, "I am small and no one will take notice. So why do I want to install security measures?" And there are times that we listen to other security-conscience, trusted advisers and the shopping list is so daunting that we just give up. But everyday, we hear about this XYZ mega company is hacked and that government agency accidentally let their million-records database be taken/stolen at the local Starbucks. What can we do? I hope this site can help. I can only give my suggestions and personal experiences and hopefully this can help.
